The second generation Japanese-Americans in Hawaii may be in the minority group nowadays; however they were the first Japanese-Americans to be born from the first generation immigrants, who started to immigrate to Hawaii around 130 years ago. The roots of the second generation Japanese-Americans are largely based on family memories and stories, handed down by the first generation. Strong family bonds and ties were handed down to even the present-day sixth generation. I felt those second generation Japanese-Americans were the original pioneers, who proved that the boundary lines of race would not separate the bonds of the people. Their smiles and their ways of lives are the attraction of Hawaii itself.

ハワイの日系二世は、約130年前に始まった移民一世の日本人から生まれたアメリカ人です。彼らのリアルなルーツは、一世から引き継いだ家族の記憶です。現在では６世代程にまで繋がり、今もそのルーツをつむいでいます。個展での作品の一部を現在upしています。
